|Description||The Programme will strengthen the agricultural infrastructures and the capacities of existing active rural associations, co-operatives and unions of producers working in sectors of interest, in terms of the sustainable management of local resources, and will explore new and innovative solutions for generating income by offering tailored support. Technical assistance throughout the life of the Programme will target a critical mass of farmers, artisans, and vulnerable population to get them actively involved in securing their immediate livelihood needs, and in sustaining their long-term social, economic and human development.|
|Expected Results||R1. Increase water harvesting in Matrouh Governorate to reduce the severe shortage of water supply for domestic use and animal consumption, as well as raise arable land for agricultural production.
R2. Irrigation Improvement in Minia and Fayoum Governorates.
R3. Adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
R4. Generating added value to main crops.
In addition, the Programme aims to:
– Enhance eco-tourism sector;
– Develop an archaeological site;
– Establish a functional Local Action Group (LAG).
|Target Beneficiaries||Rural communities of farmers and community-based associations, with particular attention to women’s organizations and Bedouin tribes.|
