Description The initiative intends to support the Egyptian Government in reforming the system of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Egypt, by establishing a TVET cluster in the sector of mechanics in Fayoum Governorate and creating a Pilot Model of Technical Education to serve the industrial sectors of national priority. The project aims at connecting TVET system to business environment, providing curricula in line with the concrete needs of labour market, thus filling the gap between the labour market demand and supply in terms of graduates’ capacities and skills acquired during their secondary and post-secondary school
Expected Results 1.      Trends in relevant sectors and labour market needs are assessed;

2.      Educational offer of the cluster (technical schools, vocational training centre and Industrial Faculty) is developed including hiring plan for manpower and related training plans;

3.      Cluster structure sectors, statutes and asset management system MIS – automated management is implemented;

4.      Business model for the sustainability with emphasis on creating partnerships with the local industries is developed;

5.      System of institutes accreditation and quality assurance is defined;

6.      Technical laboratories are equipped and ready for use;

7.      Construction and works are delivered based on previous building and land resources estimation

Target Beneficiaries 1000 perspective students choosing a secondary/higher technical education; 200 perspective students enrolled in Industrial Faculty teacher and higher technicians (trainers); Entrepreneurs willing to start up own business; Skilled workers and unemployed willing to receive formal certification; Industries & Local communities.
